Gold prices today fell in MCX futures trade amid weak global trends.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange ( MCX), the February futures fell Rs 28, or 0.10 per cent, to Rs 26,675 per ten grams.
In Delhi, gold of 99.9 and 99.5 per cent purity fell by Rs 100 each to Rs 27,100 and Rs 26,900 per ten gram, respectively. Sovereign, however, traded at last level of Rs 23,700 per piece of eight gram in limited deals.
Weakness in the rupee against the dollar, as gold moves is quite sluggish in the domestic market today. Last year for gold, the third consecutive decline year. And this year, interest rates in the US market may be increase.
At the global marketplace,, for the first time since 1998, gold had annual declines stand back to back. Gold futures for February delivery was decline 1.4 percent to settle at $ 1,184.10 an ounce in New York.
